Eiffage Polska Budownictwo has successfully managed to accomplish finishing works after casting a foundation plant at Jaworzno power plant III. Due to strict requirements, the concrete had to be poured all at once, without interruption.
The project was carried out in an effective and time-saving manner. The challenge was to firmly affix the concrete without any interruption. To accomplish this the company used 25,000 cubic metres of concrete fix and 3,340 tonnes of steel. The overall measurements is 80 metres high, 75 metres long and 4 metres wide. Eiffage Polska Budownictwo managed to finish it before the deadline. The contract net value amounts to PLN 22.3 million. It is a second such big foundation plate casted for Polish power plant.
“As it is a big casting project, it requires a particular attention and adequate due diligence. It is also a conceptual and technical and logistical challenge. We successfully manager to secure technical continuity while still dealing with cubage constraints,” says Zbigniew Zajączkowski, CEO of Eiffage Polska Budownictwo.
The foundation plate is a part of a new a 910MW hard coal-fired power block/unit at its Jaworzno III power plant site. TAURON Wytwarzanie is the main investor and Rafako-Mostostal a general contractor.
