Krakow will soon host the Third European Games, for which Eiffage Polska Budownictwo has been modernising the Wisła Stadium for the past six months. The facility is now fully ready to welcome fans from all over the world to its stands on 21 June.
Modernisation work on the Wisła Stadium was initiated on 8 December, when Eiffage signed a contract with the Municipality of Kraków. The scope of work carried out by Eiffage included:
construction of the stadium’s glass façade including the structure
replacement of the roof covering on the north stand
replacement of roof covering on the south stand
completion of slanting roofs around the perimeter of the stands
replacement of ventilation systems
replacement of the fire alarm system, emergency lighting system and Voice Evacuation System
upgrade of the Voice Evacuation System
modernisation of the fire panels
Carrying out all of this work in such a short period of time – just six months – was a very ambitious challenge, but one that the Eiffage team involved in this project has met with 100% success.
The Wisła stadium will play a very important role during the Third European Games, which between 21 June and 2 July will make Krakow and Malopolska the international capital of sport. It will be the venue for the opening and closing ceremonies of the Games and the arena for the clash of national teams in sevens rugby. We would like to thank the city of Krakow for its trust and congratulate the entire Eiffage Polska Budownictwo team involved in this demanding project.
