Eiffage is a patron of the monument to Klemens Janicki (Clemens Ianicius) in Poznań

In Poznań, at the corner of Masztalarska, 23 Lutego and Rynkowa Streets, on the initiative of the Society for the Protection of the Monuments, a new Poznań monument was erected. It represents Klemens Janicki – a poet, active in the period of the Renaissance, connected among other things with Poznań.
The competition for the monument project was announced 5 years ago. The project prepared by Joanna Buczak and Dariusz Wieczerzak won. It shows Klemens Janicki with a piece of paper and pen. The Klemens Janicki statue is installed on the 2.5m sandstone column.
Klemens Janicki lived in 1516 – 1543. He wrote poetry in Latin. Janicki studied in Lubranski Academy in Poznań. He also studied in Padua where graduated from philosophy with designation of a doctor. In 1540 Pope Paul III awarded him with the title of “poeta laureatus” which indicated that he was one of the outstanding poets of the Renaissance.
