Eiffage Aménagement – a subsidiary of the Eiffage Group – has developed an educational game called PhosphoreCity® that helps the player understand the complex process of creating urban designs in an easy and playful way.
PhosphoreCity® is a multimedia computer game that enables everyone to understand the complex process of building a city that is friendly to both its residents and the natural environment. The game draws on the Eiffage Group’s many years of experience in urban regeneration projects, as well as in designing new buildings and entire neighbourhoods in a sustainable manner.
PhosphoreCity® develops planning skills, stimulates creativity and makes it possible to anticipate the long-term effects of individual decisions at an early stage of urban and architectural planning. The game helps involve all stakeholders – from the representative of local authorities to the local resident, from the urban planner to the architect – in the development of a joint project, allows for free dialogue and provides support in the process of mutual decision making.
Eiffage’s partner in the development of PhosphoreCity® was Enodo, a well-known French developer of 3D computer games and animations. Enodo has created interactive solutions for the largest French companies, including LVMH, the owner of luxury brands such as Louis Vuitton, Givenchy, Dior and Sephora, and Total, the oil giant.
In PhosphoreCity®, the player builds his own eco-friendly district, fully adapted to the existing terrain and local landscape, choosing from over a hundred three-dimensional elements and a whole range of ready-made solutions, all this in a playful and fun atmosphere. Players are informed about the benefits of their decisions for the environment, the local community and the local economy in the form of scored points.
PhosphoreCity® was presented for the first time at the BIM World 2018 conference in Paris and will soon be available to all on the Eiffage Aménagement website.
